I have been suffering with back pains on and off for the past 30 years. During a trip to the USA things suddenly got worse and I had to spend the last days of my holiday in a wheelchair. Since then I have been in constant orthopedic care (e.g. over 40 back injections, tablets and suppositories until I started having stomach complaints). After an x-ray it was discovered that I had advanced spinal canal stenosis and multiple slipped discs – L3, L4 and L5. Corrective surgery was considered to be too complicated and dangerous. From 1996 until November 2001 I was only able to look after the household with the help of my husband and sister. The year 2001 was particularly bad year for me and I felt really down. I started noticing an improvement in my condition within the first few hours of the therapy. I could suddenly walk again without anyone helping me. That wasn’t possible before – towards the end I needed two people to support me. Over time the pain got less and less. I can now move again freely and without pain. At last I can manage the household again. Things have been stable for the past eight months.
