Before high dosage Low Level Laser Therapy by Dr. Wilden®

After high dosage Low Level Laser Therapy by Dr Wilden®

Dr Wilden Testimony

This is a testimony of my experience with Low Level Laser Therapy by Dr Wilden that took place in April 2008.

I first found Dr Wilden’s site on the internet approximately a year ago when totally frustrated with tinnitus I googled ‘tinnitus specialist’. His site was the first one that popped up. I looked on at his results in amazement. There was a part of me that was wary and a part of me that was excited. Was this the answer I had been looking for?

For the next couple of weeks I looked into his findings, his study and his explanations more thoroughly. I read everything there was to read on Low Level Laser therapy. I got in contact with Laser professors in Australia (where I am from) who confirmed that they are very much aware of Dr Wilden and consider him to be the best in the world when it comes to ears. I further investigated and got in contact with the Laser Association of Australia who also had flattering things to say about Dr Wilden. Finally I met with two of Australia’s leading ear specialists, who admitted that they have never heard of Low Level Laser Therapy as a means to improve the inner ear. The both said that they were very sceptical and ‘not to bother’. Their exact words were ‘you have enough hearing to last you to the end of your days- don’t waste your time or money.’ I’m very glad that I didn’t listen to the two doctors!

The tinnitus started about 3 years ago when an audiologist programmed my ears incorrectly. I have worn hearing aids for 25 of my 30 years and was diagnosed with mild loss around the age of 5 after reoccurring ear infections (combined with what was thought to be a hereditary hearing loss as my uncle also has a severe loss.) Each year my hearing would remain ‘very similar’ and I would loss a decibel here and there. By the time I had reached 15 my hearing loss was in the moderate range, developing into a severe loss by the age of 28. Not only this but on many occasions my ears would ‘sweat’ or be wet. I also developed dizziness that lead to me wearing just one hearing aid, which significantly eased the problem. To complicate matters further I would complain that my brain felt over-stimulated, as though too much input by the hearing aids was causing my nervous system to be stressed, tired and weary.

At this point I had visited a number of specialists, who all told me that there was nothing wrong. I knew that they were wrong. There may have been nothing that they could detect that was wrong but my life was affected by what I would find out to be ‘Inner Ear Exhaustion’ on a daily basis. The more I read Dr Wilden site the more it made sense to me. Dr Wilden’s treatment may not be well- known, Low Level Laser Therapy may only be recognised by a very small number leading ear specialist but that doesn’t mean his finding aren’t correct. I thought his research had some merit for the following personal observations. My dizziness would disappear whenever I was wearing only one aid meaning that wearing two aids caused it to in fact occur. There had to be a reason why I had loss more than 30 (to 60 decibels in some frequencies) in less than 20 years. I believe that like glasses the stronger the setting of the instrument to correct the defect, the greater strain the organ is subjected too hence resulting in it becoming weakened. I also knew from personal experience that hearing aids did nothing to alleviate tinnitus; if anything they exasperated the problem. Finally I also knew that I felt a hell of a lot better when I wasn’t wearing my hearing aids. I wasn’t as tired. I wasn’t as stressed and I wasn’t as easily depleted. Everything that Dr Wilden was saying on his website made sense to me. The only reservation I had was whether Low level laser therapy would correct the situation.

Early 2008 I decided that since other ear professionals won’t offering me a worthy alternative I would go to Germany and give Dr Wilden’s treatment a go. I booked an appointment and made my way over to his Bad Fussing practise in late March.

Much like Dr Wilden’s research I was immediately impressed by the man himself. He was most informative person I have ever encountered and spoke with passion on the wonders of Low Level Laser Therapy. He described the biological effects that the laser would have in detail and explained exactly how the body regenerates as a result of the exposure of light. To say that he is a fountain of knowledge on the ear organ would be an understatement. Dr Wilden knows virtually everything there is to know on the inner ear- he would have to be amongst the leading authorities on the ear organ in the world. I have met some of the leading professionals In Australia and I can say with confidence he knows a lot more than them!

I began the treatment. Receiving the treatment is actually a very pleasant experience. You feel a nice warm sensation that could be compared to the same feeling you get when you sunbake at the beach (except that the feeling is only restricted to wherever the laser is aimed.) After the first couple of treatments I really didn’t notice a great deal. The ears seemed slightly more sensitive and some of the tension from the nervous system had been relieved but overall I didn’t notice a great deal of difference. I was hopeful the treatment was working but I wasn’t sure. At the end of the first week (5 treatments) Dr Wilden did an audiogram and results indicated there was approximately a 5 decibels difference from my initial audiogram reading. I was happy but thought there would be more, fortunately good news would come in time.

Into my second week I began to notice significant differences. General sounds began to sound louder. The tree ruffling, the birds chirping, my wives voice and basketballs bouncing all seemed louder than usual. Possibly the biggest difference was within my head where it felt a lovely peaceful sensation that I haven’t experienced in years. My nervous system felt as though it had been reborn. Gone was the tension, replaced by a relaxing sense. At the end of the week we performed another assessment. This time I gained 10 decibels across the majority of frequencies. By now I could really tell the difference but possibly the most significant moment came when I placed my hearing aids back in my ears and couldn’t believe how loud they were. The noise was unbearable and I had to turn them down drastically. It was then that I realised how effective the treatment was to my ears. Tears of joy filled my ears at this moment.

As I had come from Australia I did 3 extra treatments with Dr Wilden taking me into a third week of therapy. By the end of final treatment I had gained 10- 15 decibels in most frequencies and in some frequencies a gain of 20 decibels was achieved. Not only did Low Level Laser therapy achieve these wonderful audiogram results but the tinnitus was virtually non-existent. I don’t know any other way to describe the result other than an absolute miracle. The results confirmed to me that the treatment is the only way I know of getting back your hearing without an artificial device to assist, such as a hearing aid or cochlea implant.

I’m so pleased with my results. I recovered approximately a third of my hearing. With ongoing treatment I hope to recover more in the months to come with the home laser device. I am amazed with the difference it has made to my life in the short time since I have had the treatment. Already I am having better conversations with people in all sorts of social situations. Playing sport for the first time in a long time I can hear the calls of the plays by my fellow team mates. I have had to turn down my mobile phone setting and radio in the car. The best aspect is that when I hear a noise it doesn’t sound artificial like it so often does though a hearing aid.

In my opinion Dr Wilden is a pioneer. He truly is ahead of his time, his research will in the years to come be looked back upon as groundbreaking in the hearing profession. Dr Wilden's work makes so much sense, one doesn’t have to be a professor to understand why and how the laser help regenerate the ears. I would recommend this treatment to anybody who has any of the ear problems that he commonly treats. I sincerely hope that if you do decide to get Low Level Laser Therapy that it has the same or if not better impact that it had on me.

On another note, Dr Wilden is not just a wonderful doctor but a wonderful man. He is patient, taking the time to explain all the processes in detail (in English). He is kind and genuinely concerned about your well being. He is very personable, likeable and unlike most doctors actually has a very good sense of humour! I truly can not talk highly enough of him. He is one of the best at what he does in the world and I only hope that if you have a hearing/ear issue that you have an opportunity to visit him.

As a patient if you have any reservations at all about the treatment please feel free to contact me on my email johnsonbryce@hotmail.com, please highlight the subject as ‘Dr Wilden’ or ‘Hearing Patient’ so that I know that your email isn’t junk mail. I will endeavour to respond as soon as possible however I have to warn you that I generally only check my emails every second of third day. The reason I am doing this is because I wished that I had someone to get in contact with before I took my visit over to Germany to reassure me about the therapy (particularly given that most people other than the those in the laser field haven’t heard of the treatment).

Dr Wilden, thank you again for all your help and for the dramatic enhancement that your treatment has had on my life. I wish you all the success in the world for the future. Keep up the awesome work.
